Thanks to the incredible kindness of several churches, businesses, and individual donors, more than 1,200 toys were donated to students at Rhea Valley Elementary School!
This outpouring of support brought big smiles, holiday cheer, and a powerful reminder of what makes our community so special. We are grateful to everyone who helped make this moment so meaningful for our students and families.

📣 SCHEDULE CHANGE: Washington County Public Schools will operate on a 2-hour delay tomorrow, Tuesday, December 16, 2025. Buses will run on clear routes only. Childcare for elementary students will be provided at elementary schools (for elementary aged students only) for working parents who need it. Please watch for additional information from your child's elementary school.
📢SCHEDULE UPDATE: Washington County Public Schools will be closed tomorrow, Monday, December 15, 2025.
Most roads are clear and dry and we had hoped that more secondary roads would improve throughout the day. However, there are several areas in every part of the county that still have roads that are ice covered.
WCPS Offices will open at 10:00 a.m. on Monday.
Childcare will be available beginning at 10:00a.m. Please watch for additional information from your child’s elementary school. Be safe and stay warm!
Just a note from RVES cafe' .. our menu for 12/17/25 Managers choice will be Turkey and cheese subs, savory green beans, buttery carrots, fresh fruit and milk of choice.

As a result, WCPS will operate on a 2-hour delayed schedule tomorrow, Friday, December 12, 2025. What an exciting day for WCPS' Elementary Robotics Teams as they are competing in the LEGO Robotics Competition! Every Elementary School had at least one team that competed and they are judged on Presentations, Robots/Coding, and Core Values! Good Luck!

This week we will conduct a lockdown drill as part of our ongoing efforts to maintain a safe and secure learning environment at Rhea Valley Elementary School. This exercise aims to practice the procedures we would follow in the unlikely event of an emergency requiring us to secure the school premises. This specific drill will be for students in 1st through 5th grade. Kindergarten and preschool are exempt from this drill. Feel free to discuss the purpose of a lockdown drill with your student, so they may understand the significance and importance of being prepared.
