The Rhea Valley Elementary School recently finished a very successful Lego season. The two teams competed on November 18, 2023, at the Abingdon Qualifying competition. The Lego Swifties won the Innovation Project Award and the Trail Bots won the Core Values Award. Most Recently the Lego Swifites competed at the state level against 57 other teams. The students put many hours into preparing for these competitions and we are very proud of their accomplishments. The Lego teams would like to thank, the faculty/ staff at RVES, Dr. Tammy Williams, Debbie Anderson, Southwest Virginia Higher Education Center, The Justin Foundation, Tina Parks, Breanna Yarber, Katie Lamb, Jennifer Johnson, Cameron Addie, Cindy Poore, Scott Poore, Dr. Dennis Cobler, Parkis Kennedy, and the parents/guardians who greatly supported the team in this adventure. The Lego Swifties are working to implement part of their Innovation Project, a Reading Nook within our school. The teams' next adventure will be teaching younger students about coding.

Don’t forget!!!
This Saturday Night!!!!

Rhea Valley is excited to share our Thanksgiving meal with guests again this year. We would like to invite you to join your student for a healthy and delicious lunch on Thursday, November 16th. The cost for an adult lunch is $5.00 per adult.
In order for our cafeteria staff to plan for the meal, we will need an accurate count of who will be attending. We will be limiting each student to two guests and meals must be prepaid for. If you plan to attend, please complete the form that was sent home with your child and return it by November 9, 2023. No late forms or prepayments will be accepted after this date.
Rhea Valley Elementary School enjoyed a fun Vocabulary Parade. The students and staff dressed up as different words. The Trunk or Treat event added to the excitement, with everyone enjoying themselves and sharing candy. It was a great way for students to learn new words and have fun together. Thank you to our parents/guardians, community members, area businesses, HHS clubs, and others for helping to make this an amazing event.
